Swenson, Jeanne T. of Bemidji, formerly of Long Lake Jeanne Marie Thies was born to parents Earl and Mary Alice (Dexter) Thies on March 2, 1929 and grew up in Long Lake, MN. She started work as a telephone operator toward the end of WWII. She and Donald (Chunky) Swenson were married in June of 1954 and made their home in Long Lake. Two years later Jeanne became a stay-at-home-mom. She was very involved in Garden Club and the Long Lake Fireman's Auxiliary. When the kids were grown, Jeanne became an Avon Lady. She never drove a car, but pedaled through the neighborhoods of Long Lake on her three-wheeled bike selling her products. Upon retirement, Don and Jeanne moved to Bay Lake in the summers and Mission, TX for many winters. She was a proud Grandma and Great-Grandma. She and Don moved to Bemidji to be closer to family in 2013. It was there that dementia took her from us on January 29, 2018. Jeanne is survived by her husband, Donald (Chunky) Swenson; daughter Jodie (Marvin) Kroeger; son Roger (Carol Becker) Swenson; granddaughters Martha (Alex Jacobson) Kroeger and Hannah Kroeger; great-grandsons Reid and Bennett Jacobson; her sister LaVeeta Dosch, nieces and nephews and friends.
