Hand, Terence Lee (Terry) Age 63, of Minnetonka and formerly St. Paul. Tougher than the rest but not tough enough to overthrow the underhanded tactics used by cancer. We lost Terry on January 20th, 2018. Born in Rock Island, Illinois on December 27th, 1954 Terry is survived by his devoted wife Penny, parents Doris and Glenn, sons Alex (Kate) and Nick, stepsons Ian and Connor, siblings Jeff (Martha), Jill (Kevin), many nieces, nephews, friends and his two beloved dogs. Terry retired from Hewlett Packard after more than 36 years in the computer business but was certainly not one to embrace technology. A man out of time, Terry loved the daily "paper," a good book, old movies, classic vinyl and a well-made martini. Terry was a long time bagpiper and a member of the Brian Boru Irish Pipe Band. Stubborn and grumpy to the end he was also the most lovable person anyone would be lucky enough to meet. To quote Bruce Springsteen "But love is a power, stronger than death just like the songs and the stories told. And when she built you brother, they broke the mold". A celebration of Terry's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Minnesota Masonic Cancer Center cancer.umn.edu
