Paulson, Alice (nee Skooglun) It is with great sadness that the family of Alice Paulson announces her passing after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease, on Saturday, January 13th, 2018, at the age of 89 years. Alice will be lovingly remembered by her sister Natalie Bjorklund; her children Keith (Deb), Jeff (Barb), Craig (Laura) and Anne (Bart) Roberts; her grandchildren Amanda, Andy, Alison, Anna, Grace, Jonathan and Meaghan; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Alice was an east-sider from Saint Paul where she attended Johnson High School and went on to the University of Minnesota to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Education. While at the University, she met her husband of 47 years, Milt Paulson. Alice's teaching career began in 1950 when she taught 5th and 6th grade in New Brighton, Minnesota. She also taught at the Royal Hawaiian School in Honolulu before eventually making her way back to Roseville schools where she served in a variety of teaching roles at North Heights, Central Park, and Brimhall Elementary Schools. She retired from teaching in 1997. In addition to her teaching career, Alice was very active at Bethany Baptist Church in Roseville where she served on just about every committee there ever was. She was also an avid painter and talented piano player. A Memorial Service in memory of Alice will be held on Thursday, January 25th at 11:00 AM at Bethany Baptist Church, 2025 Skillman Avenue, Roseville, MN with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Alice to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org). holcombhenryboom.com 651-482-7606
