Goldenstein, Richard (Dick) 84 of Bloomington, MN. Dick passed away peacefully Jan 8, 2018 surrounded by his sons. Dick was born in Morris, MN and spent the first part of his life in Donnelly, MN. Dick met the love of his life Karen when she was playing on an opposing softball team in junior high (his team lost). He served in the Army and was stationed in Germany. Dick returned to college and obtained his Master's degree and taught at Edina for most of his career. Karen had a career in nursing that extended to caring for family members and friends. They were married for 52 years. He was a loving and dedicated son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, teacher, story teller, joker, and stubborn German. Dick embraced family as the most important thing in life, and loved spending as much time as possible at their tree farm in Itasca county. Preceded in death by his parents Gredo and Mildred Goldenstein, son Monty, and wife Karen. He is survived by brother Gredo (Butch) Goldenstein, sons Scott and Tony, daughter-in-law Lisa Shafer, granddaughters Lila and Elsa, daughter in law Tracy Goldenstein, Kendra Streetman and her children McKenna and Jake, along with many family and friends. Celebration of life Friday, Jan 19th at St Stephen's Lutheran Church, Bloomington, MN. Visitation at 1 PM, service at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Heart Association.
