Koegl, Louis Paul age 96, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family members on Mon., Jan 8, 2018. Louis was born on Dec. 11, 1921 at 615 12th Ave No., Mpls. Dad enlisted in the U.S. Navy in July of 1942 and served proudly in Africa, Europe, and the Pacific Theatres. He reenlisted for the Korean War. He left active duty in 1955 and served 4 more years in the Naval Reserve, being discharged in 1959. In 1947, he married Julie Malik and had 4 children. He was a wonderful father to all of his children and cared deeply for them, right up to the end and will be missed dearly. Preceded in death by parents, Wendelin and Thresa Koegl; brothers, Joe and Carl Koegl; sisters, Mitzi Loosen and Theresa Graben; spouse, Julie Koegl; their daughter, Lisa Marie Koegl. Survived by son, John (Kathy); daughters, Julianne Moore (Jim), Diane Koegl; son/grandson, Matthew Koegl (Dawn); grandchildren, Molly (Craig), Sarah, Nick (Natalie), and Matthew; great grandchildren, Ella and Jack; also survived by special nephew, Mike Loosen (Pat) and many other nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces and many friends. Visitation 1 hour before service. Memorial Service 11am Monday, Jan 22 at Cremation Society of MN, 7835 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Park. Private interment at Ft. Snelling. cremationsocietyofmn.com
