FEB. 6

Theft. A man from the 3300 block of 93 Curve NE. sent a money gram for $1,200 to an address in Greece for the purchase of a 1991 Honda CRX vehicle. He learned later that it was not legitimate and is out the $1,200.

FEB. 7

Property damage. Someone spray-painted profanity on a mailbox on the 4300 block of 101st Lane NE.

FEB. 10

Property damage. Someone threw eggs and bologna into a mailbox on the 900 block of 102nd Lane NE.

FEB. 12

Drugs. A search warrant was served at a home on the 10100 block of Pierce Street NE. Methamphetamine was located along with components for a methamphetamine lab. Several people were arrested.

FEB. 11

Juvenile use of tobacco. A 17-year-old girl was caught smoking a cigarette on Duen Way and North Road. She told the officer she was 18 and when asked for identification, she then said she was 17. A citation was issued.

COON RAPIDS

FEB. 12

Curfew violation. An officer observed two boys walking on the sidewalk on Mississippi Boulevard and Linnet Street NW. The officer identified both boys and could smell tobacco. One of the boys admitted to having a pack of cigarettes. He was issued a citation for possession of tobacco and curfew violation and the other boy was issued a citation for curfew violation. Both were transported home and released to their mother.

FEB. 13

Disturbing the peace. Officers responded to a call about a loud party on the 11200 block of Crooked Lake Blvd. NW. Two officers went to the front door of the home and pounded on the door. Another officer at the back of the home watched through a window as the resident went to the front door, looked out the window and then walked away. The officer began knocking loudly on the window. No one responded. A citation was mailed to the home for violating the noise ordinance.

FRIDLEY

FEB. 17

Assault. An 8-year-old boy was repeatedly hit with a hockey stick by a 10-year-old boy at Hayes Elementary School, 615 Mississippi St. NE., during an after-school park and recreation program. There were several bruises and marks on the victim.

ST. ANTHONY

FEB. 12

Theft. A 25-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl were caught shoplifting at Wal-Mart, 3800 Silver Lake Road. They stole $45 worth of merchandise. They were issued citations and the juvenile's mother was notified and gave permission for the girl to be released to an adult sister.

Forgery. Officers received a call from Walgreens, 3700 Silver Lake Road, regarding to a forged prescription. The pharmacist said a woman dropped off a prescription. The doctor was contacted and said the prescription was altered and was no longer valid. A short time later, the police were notified that the suspect was in the store to pick up the prescription. The suspect, a 32-year-old woman, was questioned and released pending further investigation.

Fraud. A 93-year-old woman from the 2500 block of Kenzie Terrace called police to report that she was contacted by her bank and advised that someone has made several attempts, at various locations, to cash in her CDs. The woman was unaware they had been stolen until she received the phone call from the bank. The suspect was identified as an 83-year-old man. He is a friend of the victim and had access to her home.
