Ivan & Alyosha
8:30 p.m. • 7th Street Entry • 18-plus • $12-$14
Turns out you can take the folk out of a Seattle folk-pop band. Or at least some of it. On their second album, released this month, Ivan & Alyosha tone down the twang just a beard hair, shifting toward a sound more informed by '60s pop than their hometown's indie-folkie heroes. On "It's All Just Pretend," Ryan Carbary and brothers Tim and Pete Wilson form a songwriting cerberus with more range than on their first record, seamlessly shifting from the sprightly "Bury Me Deep" to the glowing, classic rock-informed "Modern Man" and campfire closer "Don't Lose Your Love." Kris Orlowski opens. Michael Rietmulder
