A 51-year-old man from Las Vegas died Tuesday afternoon when the motorcycle he was driving crashed in a construction zone on Interstate 94 in south-central Minnesota's Douglas County, according to the State Patrol.
The man, whose name has not been released, was headed west on 94 near Hwy. 114 in a construction zone in which the eastbound lanes had been closed and all traffic was confined to the westbound lanes. The cycle hit a cable barrier post in the center median as it crossed the lanes. The driver was ejected and struck another cable post, suffering fatal injuries.
The crash happened just after 4 p.m. Tuesday. No other details were available Wednesday.
