Medtronic PLC, Fridley and Dublin, announced U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval for VenaSealclosure system, a minimally invasive procedure that uses a specially formulated medical adhesive to close lower superficial extremities such as the greatsaphenous vein in patients with symptomatic venous reflux. Venous reflux disease occurs when valves in the veins of the lower leg no longer function properly.

NEW BUSINESS

Uponor North America, Apple Valley, announced an $18 million expansion of its manufacturing facility, beginning late spring. The expansion will meet forecast growth for its cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing in plumbing, fire sprinkler, radiant heating and cooling and hydronic piping systems used in residential and commercial structures.
