Latest Snowfall Forecast

Old Man Winter is not giving up the game. This weekend, a blizzard will rageacross a portion of the Great Plains and Upper Midwest. Next week, the entireeastern half of the country will turn much colder than it should be at thistime of year.Let's focus on the snowstorm first. A large area from Colorado and Wyomingto southern Minnesota can expect to get at least 6 inches of snow over the next48 hours. The heaviest snow (amounts of 12 inches or more) will fall in westernNebraska and southern South Dakota. This area is expected to have a blindingblizzard Saturday afternoon into Sunday; the type of weather on the GreatPlains you don't mess with.

Watch for accumulating snow to reach Rockford, Illinois and Madison,Wisconsin Sunday. Minneapolis is also due to get snow out of this beginningSaturday night, but the heaviest band may set up just south of there.
