A large part of the nation from west-central Texas to Lower Michigan isexpected to endure severe storms this afternoon into the overnight. Damagingwinds greater than 60 mph, large hail, and tornadoes will all be threats of thestorms. Heavy downpours from the storms will also likely result in flashflooding.Lubbock, Oklahoma City and Chicago could all have dangerous storms by theevening, but the most dangerous storms are expected to erupt by late in the dayover south-central Kansas, western Oklahoma and the panhandle of Texas.
Storms on Sunday could become even more dangerous over similar areas. Thethreat for tornadoes will be higher.
