Most of us can look at the Vikings' upcoming schedule over the next five weeks and come to the conclusion that this is a favorable time for the team to make a move.

A formula devised by FiveThirtyEight.com helps tell us just how good the opportunity is.

Based on the formula, the Vikings have a 60 percent chance of beating the Chiefs this week; the game at Detroit is basically a coin flip; then the Vikings are 56 percent favorites at Chicago, 66 percent against the Rams and again 56 percent at Oakland.

The schedule stiffens after that, so this is clearly the Vikings' time.

have a listen Matt Vensel and I talked at length about the Vikings' next five games on the Access Vikings podcast, at startribune.com and iTunes.

jarring News Wednesday that former NFL player Adrian Robinson Jr.'s. suicide was linked to brain disease trumps all "must-win" talk.
