Few things are more spectacular than a Minnesota sunset. (Well, maybe a Minnesota sunrise.) Add in one of our 10,000 lakes and you now have the not-so-secret recipe for a picture-perfect postcard that could beckon even the most skeptical of travelers. But as the sun sets on another season — fall begins on Thursday — we asked readers to send us their best shots so we could bask in summer's glow for just a few more days. See more photos online at startribune.com/infocus.

Now let's turn our attention — and cameras — to fall. We're accepting submissions for Autumn, up close: We want a close-up view of fall colors. Think more artistic, less landscape. Deadline: Oct. 10. Send high-res photos to infocus@startribune.com. Please include your name and hometown.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat. It’s too soon to tell how much the immigration crackdown is to blame.
