This has all the earmarks of a big rain event for the central part of the country. A series of low pressure systems emerging from the Texas Panhandle and Oklahoma is likely to produce heavy to excessive rainfall from the southern Plains to the Great Lakes in the Sunday through Tuesday time period.

A computerized projection shows the heaviest rainfall stretching from north-central Texas, through Oklahoma, eastern Kansas and Missouri into north-central Illinois. Through the central axis of this region, rainfall amounts are being forecast to exceed 4 inches which would certainly cause flooding.
