Richard Sherman's pregnant girlfriend told a TV station that the Seattle Seahawks cornerback will play in Super Bowl XLIX, but if she goes into labor on Sunday he'll be out the door before the confetti hits the turf.

Ashley Moss, who is due Feb. 12, told Seattle's NBC affiliate that she is not expecting to deliver the baby — already determined to be a boy — until after the game. But if she does?

"I guess we'll have a Super Bowl baby," she said. "And if you see Richard heading for the locker room right after it hits 0:00 in the fourth quarter, don't be surprised."

Sherman said he doesn't expect to have to make that choice, but has a plan in place if it comes to it. He did not rule out missing the Super Bowl.

Lynch fine will wait

Another issue that won't be resolved until after the season's final game, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said, is whether Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch will be fined for refusing to answer any questions at required media sessions this week. The NFL docked Lynch $100,000 earlier this season for not talking to reporters.

"I understand it may not be on the top of his list," Goodell said, "but everyone else is cooperating, everyone else is doing their part."
