Tuesday's Tip on this blog, about an eyesore of a house, prompted a good discussion about strategies for getting slovenly neighbors to clean up their acts. Minneapolis inspectors wanted to do more than just talk about it. So they contacted Whistleblower, and once they confirmed the address with me, they sent out an inspector the next day.

The result: orders by the city inspections department to remove brush, tire, scrap wood, broken grill, broken tables, pile of brick pieces, buckets, crates, downspouts, tree parts, pipes, wheel rim, cardboard, plastic barrel full of rubbish by Nov. 25; to remove the stored bricks, cement blocks and other construction materials by Nov. 28; to remove the truck with flat tires or move it into a garage and to stop parking vehicles in the yard by Nov. 28; to remove branches and fallen trees by Dec. 8; and to repair or replace the chainlink fence and repair the driveway by Dec. 18.

Whistleblower will check back to see whether the property owner follows through. The photos below were taken by city inspectors this week.
