If you've dreamed about being in the movies, and you're a 12-year-old boy, a 16-year-old girl or an 80-year-old man, Ethan, below left, and Joel Coen may make your dream come true.
Their new film "A Serious Man," about a Midwestern Jewish family in the late 1960s, will hold an open casting call to fill those roles with performers from the community. No acting experience is required.
The roles are Danny Gopnik (a boy preparing for his bar mitzvah), Sarah Gopnik (a typical teenager obsessed with getting a nose job) and Rabbi Marshak (the wise emeritus rabbi at the synagogue).
There will be an open call for the kids' roles May 4 at the Sabes Jewish Community Center, 4330 S. Cedar Lake Rd., St. Louis Park, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
