CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Accomplishments of the Rev. Peg Chemberlin's 13-year tenure include:

• Developing response teams to react to emerging situations and crises. "Within days we developed the Katrina Aid Today program that offered ongoing resettlement assistance to 110 families with the help of 55 churches."

• Joining with Hennepin County and the McKnight Foundation in the Refugee Supportive Housing Network (which was nominated for national best practice award). Under the program, 65 percent of the families who were helped to find housing increased their income within six months. "Having stable housing is a central issue in the economic life of a family."

• Organizing a historic meeting of leaders from a cross-section of faiths and American Indian tribal officers. Held in February of this year, "this was the first time this had happened in America," she said. "It's the thing I'm most proud of."
