Chart: The Saints' new home
The St. Paul Saints will vacate Midway Stadium after the 2014 season and relocate to a new ballpark in the Lowertown neighborhood.
Lowertown Ballpark
Location: Downtown St. Paul.
Cost: $63 million.
Seats: 7,000.
Planned opening: May or June 2015.
Midway Stadium
Location: In between Minneapolis and St. Paul, just south of the State Fairgrounds.
Cost: $3 million.
Seats: Originally 2,100, now about 6,000.
Opened: 1982 as Municipal Stadium. The Saints started leasing the facility and changed its name in 1993.
Baseball outlook: The Saints are hoping for one more magical season at Midway Stadium. They won the league championship during their first year at Midway and have won three more since (1993, 1995, 1996, 2004). Last season they finished 47-53, losing eight of their last 10 games to miss the playoffs.
