Jerry Zgoda's All-Star reserve picks

The NBA All-Star Games reserves will be announced Thursday night on TNT. Here are Jerry Zgoda's picks in a shortened season where coaches will face tough decisions over who's deserving:

Western Conference

G Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City: A no-brainer pick from the NBA's best team.

F Kevin Love, Timberwolves: Sure, he rebounds, but who knew he'd become league's fourth-leading scorer?

F LaMarcus Aldridge, Portland: This rights an injustice when he didn't make it last year.

G Ty Lawson, Denver: Nuggets are such a team, who do you choose? How 'bout the pulse for West's second-best.

C Marc Gasol, Memphis: A Gasol has to make the game, right? Let's go with the one averaging the double-double.

F Paul Millsap, Utah: Surprising Jazz could reach playoffs, and underrated power forward is big reason why.

G Steve Nash, Phoenix: The Suns are setting, but he never ages.

Eastern Conference

G Rajon Rondo, Boston: Despite an injury, the only worthy pick from a Celtics team that once deserved four players in game.

G Joe Johnson, Atlanta: Earning that HUGE contract since Al Horford went out because of a torn pectoral muscle.

G Brandon Jennings, Milwaukee: Where would the middling Bucks be without the guy who's finally fulfilling his rookie season's promise?

G Andre Iguodala, Philadelphia: Rising 76ers probably deserve more than one, but two-way wing edges out Jrue Holiday.

F Josh Smith, Atlanta: Not sure if he fits the format because he's a high flier who also blocks shots and plays some defense.

F/C Chris Bosh, Miami: He stepped forth in a big way when Dwyane Wade went down and kept the Heat chugging.

F Danny Granger, Indiana: Teammate Roy Hibbert might go instead, but Granger proved Wednesday against the Wolves he is an improved team's best player.
