The Vikings conducted their first four practices as part of Organized Team Activities last week at Winter Park before taking the weekend off.

Players are back on the field today for OTA session No. 5. The practice is closed to the media -- the Thursday practice will be our only access this week -- so it remains to be seen if more veterans will be taking part. The one day of access we had last week featured only two starters, safeties Tyrell Johnson and Madieu Williams, on the field.

Coach Brad Childress said there were other players working out in the building but that he was mixing things up as far as who was actually practicing. Word is that veteran cornerback Antoine Winfield arrived in the Twin Cities late last week and is at Winter Park. It sounds as if (via Twitter) that kickoff specialist Rhys Lloyd, a former Gopher, also has arrived.

On another note, agent David Canter tweeted that former Vikings safety Willie Offord has been named a minority coaching intern for the Vikings.

Update: Mike Wobschall of the Vikings website has posted an update on today's practice. He saw several veterans taking part today, including defensive end Jared Allen, left tackle Bryant McKinnie and defensive tackle Kevin Williams. Here's a link to Wobschall's report.
