GLENDALE, ARIZ. -- Garrett Hartley made an 18-yard field goal with 8:34 left in overtime to give undefeated New Orleans a 33-30 come-from-behind victory over the host Washington Redskins on Sunday.

The Saints' victory kept them ahead of the Vikings (10-1) in the race for the best record in the NFC. New Orleans moved to 12-0 and is a 1.5 games ahead of the Vikings. Minnesota will play at Arizona tonight.

The Saints have now clinched the NFC South. New Orleans was down 30-20 early in the fourth quarter and tied the score with 1:19 left in the quarter on a 53-yard pass from Drew Brees to Robert Meachem.

A Saints loss would have put them at 11-1 and actually given the Vikings the top seed in the NFC because New Orleans' loss would have been to an NFC team. The Vikings loss came against Pittsburgh of the AFC. The No. 1 tiebreaker when teams are tied is head-to-head record -- the Vikings and Saints don't play -- and the second tie-breaker is best won-loss-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
