Judd Zulgad has been on the NFL beat since the 2003 season, when he began a (gasp) two-year stint covering the Green Bay Packers for the Star Tribune. Zulgad has covered the Vikings since 2005 and is as shocked as anyone that he is again following the daily exploits of Brett Favre.
Chip Scoggins knew his second season covering the Vikings would be eventful when he saw the news helicopter tracking Brett Favre to Winter Park and a guy dressed in a full parrot costume standing outside.

Childress' contract extension official
Evidently Brad Childress liked what he saw.
Hours after saying he had to go up to his office and review a proposed contract extension, Childress signed the deal on Thursday evening. The announcement came via the team's website. The Vikings did not release the terms but ESPN reported the contract will run through the 2013 season and will be worth between $4 and $5 million per year.
"Brad has done a tremendous job leading this football team and we value the positive environment he has created for the Minnesota Vikings on and off the field," owner Zygi Wilf said in a statement on the Vikings website. "He has continued to positively impact this team and create a strong foundation for future success."
Said Childress: "My family and I are very fortunate to be a part of the Minnesota Vikings organization. I value the opportunity to continue to lead this team over the next several years as we work toward our ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl for our passionate fans everywhere."
With the Vikings at 8-1 this season, Childress has a regular-season record of 32-25. He is 0-1 in the playoffs.
