GREEN BAY -- The Green Bay Packers probably know better than any team what Brett Favre can do when he finds a defensive weakness so it probably came as no surprise on Oct. 5 when the veteran quarterback took full advantage of the absence of safety Atari Bigby.

Still out at the time because of a knee injury, all Bigby could do was watch as Favre made the most of the fact that Derrick Martin was replacing him. "Anytime I'm not playing, and my team is out there, win lose or draw, it's going to be difficult," Bigby said today in the Packers locker room. "Because I want to play. I was that kid who said that if I'm not playing, you have to take my shoes, because I'll end up out there somehow playing anyway."

Bigby has no concerns about not playing Sunday. He returned for the Packers' 26-0 victory over Detroit in Week 6 -- Green Bay had its bye in Week 5 -- and will get an opportunity to face Favre for the first time this weekend at Lambeau Field.

The Packers have given up only a field goal in recording victories over the Lions and Cleveland but the assignment will get much tougher with the Vikings coming to town. "If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best," Bigby said. "That's the way we look at it. It's very tough, because you can't load up the box like you would against other teams that just have a running threat. It's a dual threat. They can run and pass. But we have to be honest as far as if we have deep coverage, stay deep. Don't bite on the run fakes."

No one is better at playing these types of games than Favre. He especially likes to look a safety off in an effort to create confusion about where he's going to go with the ball. "Favre is probably the best at that," Bigby said. "He's a guy that's going to look you off, pump fake you. He knows what your reads are. So that makes it difficult for us back there."
