Dugan tripping call to be discussed

Vikings coach Brad Childress said Monday that he had a conversation with NFL vice president of officiating Mike Pereira to discuss the fourth-quarter tripping call made on Jeff Dugan Sunday in Pittsburgh.
The penalty wiped out what would have been a 10-yard touchdown pass from Brett Favre to Sidney Rice, a score that would have given the Vikings a 17-13 lead. Instead, that drive ended with Favre being stripped of the ball and the Steelers' LaMarr Woodley returning it for a touchdown.
Childress made it very clear how unhappy he was both Sunday and Monday. So what did Pereira think about the call? You can find out at 6 p.m. Wednesday when that call is one that Pereira will discuss on his weekly segment on the NFL Network's "Total Access" show.
Pereira also will discuss the report that referees might will wear helmets next season. Back judge Richard Reels got run over by Dugan on Percy Harvin's fourth-quarter kickoff return for a touchdown Sunday, something that certainly will be brought up.
