Randy Moss is on the field and practicing with the Vikings on Thursday, his first workout after being traded by the New England Patriots.

Moss began practice by having a brief conversation with offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell off to the side. He joined the wide receivers group after early special teams drills and you could tell wide receivers coach George Stewart was more than excited.

Stewart bounced up and down as Moss jogged across the practice field to join his position group. Moss caught passes mainly from Brett Favre through individual drills. Several times Moss chatted with the other receivers before a rep about how the Vikings run certain routes.

Another reminder that Moss, Favre and Brad Childress will have press conferences after practice, roughly around 2 p.m. Central.

As for other pre-practice notes, center John Sullivan (calf) and tight end Visanthe Shiancoe (hamstring) returned to practice after missing Monday's workout.

Rookie cornerback Chris Cook was the only player not on the field during the portion the media is allowed to watch. Cook practiced Monday so hopefully we'll get an update on his status after practice.
