Wednesday was a day off for Vikings players but many of them were in the locker room. Tight end Visanthe Shiancoe said the locker room was "energized" by news that Randy Moss had been traded from the New England Patriots.

"There is good energy in that locker room," Shiancoe said. "You could actually feel the energy. It was all positive energy and anticipation."

Moss is scheduled to take part in his first practice and address the media on Thursday. Several players said his arrival created a spark inside the locker room. "This is an exciting move, I think everybody feels that in the locker room," Brett Favre told Vikings.com. "It's rare you get to play with a future Hall of Famer and get to appreciate their talents up close. Randy Moss is a great player and his career speaks for itself. I've admired him from a distance for a long time and you can't help but be impressed by the guy. I've seen him light our teams up plenty of times in those Vikings-Packers games and I'm excited to be on the same team now." Adrian Peterson told the team's website that he's long been a fan of Moss and believes his presence will have a dramatic effect on the offense. "It's a great move getting Randy Moss in here," Peterson said. "We've just been missing something and I think he can give us another threat down the field. The opportunity to play with a guy like Randy Moss, one of the best wide receivers to ever play the game, that's a chance that doesn't come along every day. To have a chance to perform on the field with him and the talent that we have gathered here is pretty amazing." The Vikings now have a star-studded lineup of skill players with Favre, Peterson, Moss, Shiancoe, Percy Harvin and Sidney Rice when he returns from hip surgery. That looks like a fantasy league lineup on paper. "If we play our cards right, that equals domination," Shiancoe said. "Complete domination if our cards are played right." The Vikings have to find a way to fit all those pieces together and make it work. Rice received a question on his twitter account asking if he's OK with Moss joining the team. "Are you serious?" Rice wrote. "This is gonna be interesting. In a great way! Welcome home Randy!" Pro Bowl defensive end Jared Allen described the situation as "awesome." "That's the only way to describe it," Allen told the team's website. "That guy is a beast."
