Vikings-Philadelphia game replay

  • Updated: December 15, 2013 - 11:00 PM

FORMER EAGLE MAKES IMPACT

Vikings cornerback Shaun Prater didn’t know he’d start until warmups Sunday. Chris Cook was scratched because of a knee injury, which gave Prater his first NFL start against the team he started the season with, the Eagles. “I’ve spent eight or nine weeks getting ready for just this one game,” Prater said. The Vikings got Prater off waivers in October, and he was used sparingly before Sunday, when he recorded his first career interception off Nick Foles. “It’s like a pit bull locked in a cage,” Prater said. “He’s waiting and waiting and finally gets out. The only thing he’s focused on is getting to that ball. I was finally getting that bone today.”

MANO-A-MANO

Vikings LB Chad Greenway vs. Eagles RB LeSean McCoy

WHO WON?

The NFL’s leading rusher, McCoy had 38 yards on the ground and five catches for 68 yards. Greenway (five tackles) led a defense that fared well against a powerful offense and gets the edge.

PLAY OF THE GAME

EARLY BOMB SETS A TONE

The Vikings had second-and-4 at their 43 in the scoreless first quarter when WR Greg Jennings (15) lined up in the left slot against Eagles FS Patrick Chung (23). Jennings cut to the right and beat Chung and SS Nate Allen (29). QB Matt Cassel (16) avoided Fletcher Cox (91) and stepped up to hit Jennings for a 57-yard TD.

THE QUOTE

“ It was funny … my route wasn’t supposed to be over there. I was supposed to keep it a little higher.”

— Jennings
