Continued: Craig: NFL trades require time to wait-and-see

Anyone who has watched Shaun Hill play for the Vikings or the Lions probably has a hard time picturing him imitating Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III. Or at least a healthy RG3. But that’s what Hill, the Lions’ No. 2 QB, and No. 3 QB Kellen Moore did in practice this week.

“Shaun supposedly ran the option in college,” Moore said. “Supposedly. I’ve only seen the 32-year-old version of Shaun since I got here. Somehow, all those highlights avoided YouTube and Google image searches.”

According to STATS, the Packers last week had the second-highest total for yards after the catch since 1992. They had 295 in their win over the Redskins.

Only the Houston Oilers, who had 348 against the Vikings in 1992, had more.

Three observations …

• What’s so shocking about Browns coach Rob Chudzinski saying quarterback Brandon Weeden isn’t guaranteed of getting his job back? The guy’s done nothing to earn a commitment like that.

• A Spergon Wynn-autographed jersey to the 12th caller who can name the last person whose NFL genius star burned out as quickly as Eagles coach Chip Kelly’s did after one game.

• No offense to Donovan McNabb, but if a current Chicago Bear can wear Mike Singletary’s No. 50, then perhaps the Eagles overdid it a bit by retiring McNabb’s No. 5.

Two predictions …

• In what will be remembered as the Teddy “Bridgewatergate” scandal, the Jaguars will out-tank the decidedly unmotivated Browns and land the No. 1 overall draft pick in 2014.

• The Vikings will beat Cleveland in what’s believed to be the first time an NFL team has had byes the week before and after traveling to London.
