ABOUT WASHINGTON

RECORD: 2-3

• Rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III suffered a concussion in Sunday's loss to Atlanta but practiced Wednesday and is expected to play. Because of his status, odds haven't been set for the game.

• Rookie running back Alfred Morris -- a sixth-round pick -- is fourth in the league and first among rookies with 491 rushing yards.

• Washington is seventh in overall offense, fourth in rushing and is tops in the NFC with 17 touchdowns.

• Washington's defense gives up lots of yards -- especially through the air -- but is third in the NFC in take-aways (11).

•Ex-Vikings Cedric Griffin and Madieu Williams are in the defensive backfield.

PLAYER TALK WASHINGTON WR SANTANA MOSS

Moss has been asked to accept a reduced role with the addition of Pierre Garcon and Josh Morgan. Moss has 12 catches for 177 yards and a team-best two TDs.

• On the team's eight-game home losing streak: "I don't have an answer for it. It's strange. It's stunning."

• On Washington's league-worst ability to convert on third down: "It's not something you can point out. We have to make a play. Nothing you can do about it but keep trying."

• On the different defenses he's seen with RG III at QB: "[Last year] teams played us deep. Now you see a safety in the box here and there. There are a lot of safe coverages, to make sure we don't have too many lanes. They have to respect what he can do."

COACH SPEAK mike SHANAHAN

• On the rebuilding process in Washington, where he is 13-24 in two-plus seasons: "There are always surprises that go on in every organization. But we've made a number of changes, and I believe we're headed in the right direction."

• On Vikings offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave: "Very bright. He knows how to win, how to take a look at the supporting cast and come up with the best way to put his players in the best position to win."

• On Morris: "He's got a little bit of everything. He's got power, he's got the ability to make the first guy miss."
