The Twins have hired Butch Davis to be their first coach as well as handle outfield, baserunning and bunting instruction. He's the eighth, and final member of the coaching staff to be named.

Davis, 56, played eight seasons in the majors and had spent the last 20 seasons coaching in the Orioles system. He's been the field coach for the Class AA Bowie Baysox of the Eastern League. He's been a coach at the Class AAA and Class AA levels and also has been a roving outfield/bunting instructor.

So here is Paul Molitor's first coaching staff:

Asst. Hitting: Rudy Hernandez
Third Base: Gene Glynn
First Base: Butch Davis
Bullpen: Eddie Guardado

Davis will be officially announced at a 2 pm teleconference.
