Justin Morneau took 25-30 swings, using a fungo bat and a batting tee, and said his left wrist responded well. He said he'll continue ramping up his swinging and hopes to return from the DL on Wednesday, the first day he's eligible. But he added that he's not sure exactly when he'll be ready.

* Manager Ron Gardenhire said that one reason he had Brian Duensing pitch three innings in relief on Wednesday was to stretch him out in case the Twins need him in the rotation.

"Duensing's been a starter around here; he can pitch, and he can get people out," Gardenhire said. "He's really good in the 'pen, and I love him right where he's at. But if we can't get to the bullpen, then what good does it do out there? Do you understand? So we're trying to figure some things out."

Tonight's game

The Twins have won back-to-back games just once this season, and that came April 11-12 against the Angels. After holding on to win Friday night's game 7-6 (a game that ended Saturday morning at 12:17 a.m.), the Twins will try to make it two in a row tonight against the Blue Jays.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:10 p.m.

P.J. Walters gets the start for the Twins. Here's a little more about him. The Blue Jays counter with rookie righthander Drew Hutchison, and the Twins are going with the same lineup. On Friday night, they drew a season-high nine walks, and five of those base runners went around to score.
