TWINS UPDATE

They are 27-29 at Target Field, but 4-2 at home vs. the White Sox. They are 9-3 overall against Chicago this year, and their next victory will clinch the season series for the first time since 2010. … They have hit 21 home runs against White Sox pitching, more than against any other opponent. … They are 41-21 when they score four or more runs, but just 12-44 when they don’t. … Jared Burton has not allowed a run since July 4, a span of 16⅓ innings that is the fifth longest active streak in the American League. … Albers has not given up a run in 17⅓ career innings, just seven outs shy of the franchise record for the start of a pitcher’s career. Caleb Thielbar pitched 19⅔ scoreless innings to start his career earlier this season.

WHITE SOX UPDATE

They rebounded from losing three of four to the Twins last weekend by taking two of three from the first-place Tigers, though they lost the series finale Wednesday 6-4. They have lost 14 of their past 17 games against AL Central opponents. … They are 18-41 on the road, the fewest road victories in the major leagues. … They are on pace to lose 99 games, which would be their worst record since going 54-106 in 1970. … Adam Dunn is hitting .233, but he is batting .310 over his past 57 games, with 14 home runs. Dunn ranks in the top five in the AL with 27 home runs and 133 strikeouts. … Sale leads the AL with four complete games, and is fifth with 167 strikeouts. He is also fourth with 11 losses.
