On the gymnastics floor, Bailey DuPay face is firm, her determination evident. There are no nerves, no worries. She knows what she's capable of doing and she does it. The size of the stage matters little.

The 5-2 inch senior made a strong case to be considered the best high school gymnast in state history by winning her third Class 2A all-around title in a row Saturday. Her score of 39.05 was the fifth best in tournament history and the second time DuPay had topped 39 in the finals.

After the meet was over, however, DuPay let her bubbly personality show through, pausing to pose for photos with anyone who asked. Her gymnastics career was over — she will be a diver at Minnesota State Mankato next year — and she wasn't quite ready to let it go.

"I think this one was the best," she said. "I just wanted to go out and have fun with it and I did exactly that, in every one of my routines. Knowing that I was having fun and the crowd was watching me, it was the best of the three."

Hill-Murray • hockey

Hill-Murray won its second consecutive Class 2A girls' hockey state championship with a 2-1 victory over top-seeded Minnetonka on Saturday. Anderson, a junior forward, was the leading scorer in the championship bracket with four goals and an assist, including the tie-breaking third-period goal in a 2-1 semifinal victory over Edina.

New Prague • basketball

The Trojans improved to 20-3 with two Wright County Conference victories. The junior guard had 23 points and 11 rebounds in a 64-54 victory over Hutchinson and 12 points and eight rebounds and played tough perimeter defense in a 64-47 victory over Waconia.

Eagan • basketball

The Wildcats lost to Prior Lake 93-92 last Tuesday, but the story of the game was the performance of the 6-foot-3 senior guard. He became the first player in school history to score more than 40 points in a game when he scored 46, making 14 of 18 shots from the floor.

St. Paul Johnson • basketball

The senior guard carried the Governors to a 123-119 double-overtime victory over Minneapolis North in Saturday's Twin City Game. Mobley scored 52 points in the game, 17 of them in the overtime periods.

GRIFFIN PARRIOTT

New Prague • wrestling

The junior, who is ranked No. 7 in the nation at 145 pounds by InterMat Wrestling, cruised to victory in 145-pound bracket of the Class 2A, Section 2 individual meet. In the process, he improved to 41-0 and earned the 200th victory of his career.

JACKSON STRIGGOW

Orono • wrestling

Two weeks ago, the senior sacrificed an undefeated season by moving up to 195 pounds to wrestle Totino-Grace's Lance Benick in the Class 2A, Section 5 team finals. He lost 11-4, but found solace by winning the section 182-pound title Saturday, improving to 40-1.
