Injured Lynx players Wright, Peters making progress

Both Monica Wright and Devereaux Peters are well along in their post-knee surgery rehab and each could do at least some basketball-related activity, on their own, as early as next week.

Thursday, for the first time, both Wright (who had surgery on her left knee April 25) and Peters (left knee, May 7)) did some running, jumping, shooting and dribbling on the sidelines as the Lynx practiced Thursday.

"Today was the first day for that," coach Cheryl Reeve said. "So there is no question there will be reactions to that. They will stay behind, and work, and try to get ready for next week. Then we'll see where we're at."

Meanwhile:

--Center Janel McCarville has had a difficult week. We all know about the ankle she rolled late in regulation in Sunday's OT victory over Connecticut. But McCarville was also dealing with a nasty ear infection that had her way, way under the weather. It was so bad even her equilibrium was affected. Both ankle and ear are OK now, though.

--Reeve said she wants to try to figure out a way to use her bench more in an upcoming stretch in which they play three games in four nights for the first time since late in the 2012 season. Reeve is encouraged by the play of backup guards Lindsay Moore and Tan White in Sunday's victory. And she wants to get rookie forward Asia Taylor more time as well.

That's about it for now. Have a great weekend and I'll get back to you prior to Saturday's home game.
