Senior Sarah Wilhite had 15 kills and freshman Alexis Hart added eight as the No. 2 Gophers swept Maryland 25-13, 25-14, 25-12 on Friday in their Big Ten volleyball opener at the Sports Pavilion.
Minnesota (9-1) hit .330, the Terrapins (8-5) just .028. The Gophers had almost a 2-1 dominance in kills, 42-26.
Minnesota will remain at home tomorrow night to take on No. 17 Ohio State at 7 p.m.
