The Gophers took a 38-7 lead into halftime against Indiana State on Saturday, in one of their most dominant single-half performances in years.

Mitch Leidner threw three touchdown passes, including two to Drew Wolitarsky, and completed 15 of 22 passes for 232 yards. Those numbers would have been even better if not for four drops.

Wolitarsky had seven catches for a career-high 115 yards.

The Gophers alternated series for running backs Rodney Smith and junior college transfer Kobe McCrary. Smith had nine carries for 28 yards, and McCrary had 11 carries for 68 yards. Each had a touchdown.

Indiana State's lone touchdown drive included a fluke 58-yard completion, as Isaac Harker's pass was quickly tipped twice – once by a Sycamores receiver, and once by Gophers safety Adekunle Ayinde – before being caught in stride by Clayton Smith.
