Star Lynx guard Seimone Augustus, the league's sixth-leading scorer, will miss her sixth straight game as her team plays Seattle this afternoon at the Target Center.

Augustus continues to recover from bursitis in her left knee. Her non-playing streak started the last time the Lynx played Seattle, a 74-69 win on June 29. Guard Monica Wright will again start in her place.

But Reeve said she has noticed a few things after watching her players cope with the absence.

"You learn how good Lindsay Whalen and Maya Moore are and how steady McCarville [is]," she said. "They just know what's needed to get us through it."

Getting you through Kent Youngblood's absence is Megan Ryan, sports intern extraordinaire.

As far as the game, coach Cheryl Reeve said she always expects lower-possession game when playing the Storm.

"They only want to play at 74 possessions. We want to play closer to 80," she said. "And so our ability to get our tempo the way we want it is the key to the game."

Reeve said her team's defense will need to be aggressive to create quick opportunities for the offense. She added the Lynx will need to not go deep into the shot clock and rely on ball and player movement.

Part of that movement will come from guard Lindsay Whalen, who along with forward Maya Moore, having been very productive for the Lynx lately – both notched double-doubles in a 91-85 road win at Tulsa on Thursday.

"Playing Seattle is hard for Whalen because the crowd the paint so much," Reeve said. "A large part of what she's going to do for us today is move the ball and get everybody involved."
