Gophers freshman Hudson Fasching was named among the Big Ten's weekly Three Stars, the conference announced on Tuesday. The forward's three points helped salvage a series split at Notre Dame last weekend and earned him the No. 3 star honor.

Fasching scored two goals in Saturday's 5-4 victory over No. 4-ranked Notre Dame and assisted Friday's lone goal in a 4-1 loss. He has a point in each of his first eight collegiate games and leads Big Ten freshmen in points (11), goals (five), and plus/minus rating (+12).

The Gophers have had at least one player recognized after each week of competition. Fasching is the fourth Gopher honored as part of the Three Stars.

It's the first week Gophers junior forward Sam Warning hasn't been honored after a weekend series.

Ohio State junior forwards Tanner Fritz and Max McCormick claimed the top two stars after a sweep of Niagara.
