Jerry Zgoda missed the entire Kevin Garnett era, but he's back covering the Timberwolves after working the beat for their first four seasons two decades ago. In between, he covered a bit of everything: Gopher men's and women's basketball and NCAA athletics, golf, outdoor recreation, sports media and a little Vikings and Twins.

You wanted it, you got it: Wolves summer-league roster

Posted by: Jerry Zgoda under Wolves players, Wolves news Updated: July 12, 2012 - 10:32 AM

While the Wolves wait for the Nicolas Batum situation to play out -- will they strike a sign-and-trade with Portland, sign him to that big offer sheet or do nothing at all if they can't reach a trade -- there's a big group headed to Target Center for a three-day summer league minicamp.

Wolves youngsters Derrick Williams, Wes Johnson, Malcolm Lee and second-round pick Robbie Hummel are expected to play.

Expected, too, are two international players -- center Paulo Prestes and forward Lior Eliyahu, the Israeli player they received from Houston along with Chase Budinger -- to whom they own rights.

Assistant coach Jack Sikma's son Luke, Denver coach George Karl's son Coby and Ohio State guard William Buford also are expected.

Here's the long list. Expect about 11 or 12 players to head to Vegas for five games next week
