Crowds for  Lynx games are picking up at Target Center. On Wednesday the Lynx had their third announced crowd of more than 9,000 when they played Phoenix.

That has not happened since 1999, the Lynx's first season. Two more crowds of 9,000 or more are expected for their last two home games before the break.

The Lynx (13-1)  play Connecticut at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 7. The Sun are 9-3, have the second best record in the WNBA and lead the East by 1-1/2 games.

The Lynx that night will be trying to go 9-0 at home this season and 15-0 since Sept. 2, including five playoff wins.

In their last home game before their five-week break for the London Summer Olympics, the Lynx will play Tulsa at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 10. The Shock (2-11) is in last place in the West, but it is camp day. That means thousands of boys and girls attending summer camps will be there. Last year the camp day game drew 11,820.

The Lynx are averaging 9,070 and that total should climb a little after the next two games.

Heard the atmosphere was great at Target Center on Wednesday. Had to miss game with foot injury but should be at next two. Hobbled but tolerable.
