Add Wellman to the Wild's long injury list

Evening from Minneapolis. Late blog, but I’ve been running around all day.

According to sources, Casey Wellman suffered a wrist injury Tuesday when he was slashed in Winnipeg. During warmups Wednesday, he tried to grip his stick and was unable to. He was pulled from the lineup, which was the reason he didn’t play against Chicago.

X-rays didn’t reveal the damage, so he went for an MRI today. Results are not known yet, but we’ll see if he’s on the ice in the morning.

As I reported today, Mikko Koivu also has a leg injury, and Guillaume Latendresse is out with post-concussion syndrome and Devin Setoguchi with a knee injury.

On Friday, the Wild is expected to recall one or two forwards in case Koivu, Wellman and/or Pierre-Marc Bouchard (broken nose) can’t play Saturday vs. the Islanders.
