Lundin to make Aeros debut; Wellman reassigned

Posted by: Michael Russo under Wild practice Updated: November 18, 2011 - 11:19 AM

As reported in today's newspaper, Wild defenseman Mike Lundin will make his season debut tonight -- only in an Aeros' uniform in Houston against the Texas Stars.

Lundin, out all year with a back injury, has accepted a rehab stint. He's scheduled to play at least tonight and on Sunday against Abbotsford.

To activate Lundin off injured reserve, the Wild reassigned Casey Wellman so he can play in three games in three nights this weekend.

However, Dany Heatley is missing from today's practice. I bet it'll be maintenance or illness because why send Wellman south if the Wild would potentially need him tomorrow against the Blues?

However, Jared Spurgeon is missing from today's practice as well. If he is unable to go due to injury or illness, the Wild will have to recall somebody -- possibly Chay Genoway, Tyler Cuma or Drew Bagnall -- or sign assistant coach Darryl Sydor.

I'll update the blog after practice with updates on Heatley and Spurgeon.
