Michael Rand started RandBall with hopes that he could keep lies from conquering the minds of the weak. So far, he's only succeeded in using the word "redacted" a lot. He welcomes suggestions, news tips, links of pure genius, and pictures of pets in Halloween costumes here, though he already knows he will regret that last part.

Short answer to the headline question?
Not likely.
While Justin Verlander now has 22 victories after defeating Cleveland today, it looks like he will have only three starts left in the season based on the remaining schedule. And that's assuming Detroit doesn't clinch early and give him ample rest going into a postseason matchup. So he'd have to win every remaining start -- not a ridiculous notion considering he has now won 10 consecutive starts -- but still a lot has to go right.
The last pitcher to win at least 25? Bob Welch, who won 27 games in 1990. Of course.
