TWINS UPDATE

After winning the past two games vs. Texas, the Twins are 17-26 at home, no longer the worst home record in the AL (the Angels are 16-26). They are 10-8 against the AL West, 5-1 at Target Field. … They were swept in three games at Oakland in May, and outscored 15-7. … Former Athletics reliever Fernando Abad has a 2.67 ERA in the Twins bullpen. Milone gave up seven runs (five earned) last year in his only career start against his former team. Longtime A's catcher Kurt Suzuki is only 7-for-43 (.163) with one extra-base hit vs. Oakland.

ATHLETICS UPDATE

They are 18-21 on the road, but after ending a nine-game road losing streak in mid-June, they have won six of their past seven away from Oakland. … Along with the Twins, they are the only other AL team to allow 400 runs this season. … Former closer Sean Doolittle is on the disabled list because of a shoulder strain. New closer Ryan Madsen has 15 saves in 18 chances. … Of the former Twins now with the A's, 3B Danny Valencia is batting .313 with 11 home runs. RHP Liam Hendriks has a 6.20 ERA in 17 games in relief. OF Sam Fuld has not played because of a shoulder injury.
