Less than a week after returning from a game against Louisville held in Puerto Rico, the Gophers men's basketball team announced Thursday it would head back to the island next year.
The Gophers will play in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off in San Juan on Nov. 19-22, 2015. They won the tournament in their previous appearance in 2010, beating Western Kentucky, No. 8 North Carolina and West Virginia under coach Tubby Smith.
Also in next year's field: Butler, Miami (Fla.), Mississippi State, Missouri State, Utah, Temple and Texas Tech, where Smith now coaches.
