$1 million Juvenile FILLIES

West Coast runners have dominated this race when held at Santa Anita, so I'm staying with the trend. CONQUEST ECLIPSE ran second to rival ANGELA RENEE last out in the Grade 1 Chandelier and looks to turn the tables today. Both should improve on their home track. DANETTE will be my West Coast price play, ran third to top two choices last out. BY THE MOON won at a huge price last effort in the Grade 1 Frizette at Belmont, should get first assault on pacesetters escorting in the shadows.

$2 million FILLY AND MARE FURF

British-bred DANK returns to defend her title as the one to beat. Probably not as good of form as her 2013 campaign, but word is her trainer has her tuned up and looking ready for the repeat. Irish-bred JUST THE JUDGE enters off a Grade 1 win at Woodbine after closing on the scene late for a driving win. Woodbine turf winners must be taken seriously. Trainer Chad Brown has the two most prominent North American hopefuls in STEPHANIE'S KITTEN and DAYATTHESPA. Workouts suggest these two are ready to take on the European invasion.

$1 million FILLY AND MARE SPRINT

Going to have to catch possible lone speedster STONETASTIC to get the victory. Filly has been training lights out and could be long gone at a big price if unchallenged early. JUDY THE BEAUTY has ran in the top two spots in 15 of 17 career starts. She likes to sit off the pace and will chasing our speedball from the get-go. ARTEMIS AGROTERA and LEIGH COURT exit graded wins and merit respect coming off the pace as major players.

$1 million TURF SPRINT

SILENTIO is a consistent moneymaker and now cuts back from a mile to sprinting down the hill with a field loaded with early speed. Expect to cut loose while gathering momentum late. HOME RUN KITTEN comes out of Graded 3 stakes win down the hill rolling late getting up in time, will also benefit from contested fractions. AMBITIOUS BREW should improve after running second to Home Run Kitten following a seven-month layoff. RENEESGOTZIP will come out firing and will be dangerous up front, but starting from the 1 hole is the tough spot in the downhill turf.

$2 million JUVENILE

Trainer Todd Pletcher will be sending out the two favorites in DAREDEVIL and CARPE DIEM, now that we had the huge scratch of AMERICAN PHAROAH this week. Going to give Daredevil the top spot after two effortless debut wins on the wet track at Belmont this fall. Must overcome difficult outside position and hopefully he's not just a mud specialist. Carpe Diem is also 2-for-2 coming in off impressive victories and most likely the favorite at post time. CALCULATOR and UPSTART are strong candidates for win honors and will be used on my tickets.

$3 million TURF

Europeans have dominated this race, winning 12 of the past 15 titles. TELESCOPE is probably the best of the invading contestants. He has finished in the top two money spots in nine of his 10 career starts with losses to some of the best horses in the world. FLINTSHIRE and CHICQUITA are two other Europeans with a lot of upswing coming in. MAIN SEQUENCE is probably the best of the American hopefuls entering with three straight wins. HARDEST CORE is my price play coming off the Arlington Million victory.

$1.5 MILLION SPRINT

RICH TAPESTRY has raced all over the world and won his only start at Santa Anita last out against a strong field. Should manage to sit off the expected snappy pace and come sweeping in at high speed like a Alberta clipper. Last year's winner SECRET CIRCLE will be going for his third BC win and merits respect. PRIVATE ZONE appears to be peaking at the right time coming off a Grade 1 win and has been freshened up with some strong workouts. Deep field, but keep in mind California runners have won six of the past eight sprint titles.

$2 MILLION MILE

TORONADO is strictly the one to beat and will be tough to beat if he runs like he has against much tougher foes overseas. Clockers have been bragging this week on what a monster he is on the track; the top pick of the day. MUSTAJEEB, TRADE STORM and ANODIN merit respect as the other foreign bred. Local favorite and beloved OBVIOUSLY will be the one to catch and will take them as far as he can go.

$5 MILLION CLASSIC

The Classic will not be short of an accelerated pace-scenario with the handful of early speedsters in the field. TOAST OF NEW YORK will be my bombsaway top pick in the feature. Ran second last out to today's favorite in only second start on U.S. soil. I see a lot of upswing to this runner at a big price. My horse of the year has been SHARED BELIEF and it's tough jumping off the bandwagon, but I just feel he runs better on synthetic than he does on dirt. Undefeated in seven starts, but this is his toughest field to date. TONALIST will be my late closing threat picking up the pieces. CIGAR STREET steps up in class but trainer Bill Mott is one of the best getting his runners prepared when they aren't on the radar. I expect CALIFORNIA CHROME to bounce back strong after a couple of dull efforts, training extremely well.

Best bet: Race 11 (Mile), Toronado

50 cent Pick 4 tickets: Race 9 (Turf), (1,3,4,7,9,11,12/All/5/9) and (1,3,4,7,9,11,12/6/5/All). $98 total.
