FISH FACTS
Bio: Moved with his family at age 4 to Vero Beach, Fla. His father, Tom, is a teaching professional in Vero Beach. He's a big fan of all Minnesota sports teams. He was named the 2006 ATP Comeback Player of Year, improving from No. 341 to No. 47 in the world rankings after missing much of 2005 with a variety of injuries.
Versatility: Of Fish's five career singles crowns, he has won on hard courts (indoors and outdoors), grass and clay.
Olympics: Fish won a silver medal in 2004 in the Athens Games, losing in the final to gold medalist Nicolas Massú of Chile.

Atlanta Tennis Championships, July 25: Fish, in "one of the best wins I've had," beat Andy Roddick in the semifinals, ending a nine-match losing streak against the No. 1 seed. Then he beat John Isner 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4). Fish earned $95,845 with the victory, which extended his match win streak to 10.
Campbell's Hall of Fame Championships, Newport, R.I., July 18: Fish hit 24 aces and outlasted Olivier Rochus of Belgium 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 for his first title of the 2010 season and fourth title overall. It was his first career victory on grass. "It means a lot to win now on every surface in my career," he said.

Delray Beach (Fla.) International Championships, March 1: Fish rolled to a straight-sets victory over Evgeny Korolev, 7-5, 6-3, to become the first No. 1 seed to win the Delray Beach tournament in its 17-year history.
2006
U.S. Clay Court Championship, Houston, April 17: Fish was unseeded and ranked 212th but managed to advance to the final and beat Jürgen Melzer 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 to claim the $52,000 winner's check. "It's been an incredible week for me," Fish told the crowd after the victory. "I didn't expect to be standing here in front of this trophy and have my name on it."

Stockholm Open, Oct. 26: Fish, then 21, outlasted 19-year-old Robin Soderling 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (4) to win his first pro title. "It feels great to win my first title," Fish said. "It's been a dream ever since I've been playing."
