Kevin Durant blocked shots by Ricky Rubio and Rudy Fernandez in the final seconds, giving the United States an 86-85 victory over Spain on Sunday in Madrid in a warmup game for the world championships.

Durant also led the United States with 25 points.

The United States rallied after Spain -- 13 points behind after three quarters -- took a one-point lead on Juan Carlos Navarro's three-point play with 27 seconds left. Navarro scored 20 points.

"It was one of those games that was a learning experience for us, and I think we made key plays down the stretch," Durant said. "We also played as a team and stuck through tough times."

Fish pushes Federer but loses Well-rested Roger Federer beat Mardy Fish 6-7 (5), 7-6 (1), 6-4, winning his second Cincinnati Masters championship He was barely on the court all week because his opponents got hurt and his game was so good.

Fish, a native of Edina, was the only player to test the world's second-ranked player. Fish kept it as close as could be, dropping the final set after the match's only service break. The match lasted 2 hours, 40 minutes; Federer had spent only 3 hours, 17 minutes on court while getting to the title match.

Later, Fish withdrew from the Pilot Pen Classic, which was to begin Sunday in New Haven, Conn., but was delayed by rain.

LITTLE LEAGUE WORLD SERIES

Hawaii team wins close one Shiloh Baniaga hit a homer in the top of the first, then struck out six and allowed three hits over five innings to lead Waipahu, Hawaii, to a 3-1 victory over Toms River, N.J., in one of the best games yet at this year's Little League World Series in South Williamsport, Pa.

The other games Sunday weren't as close: Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, beat Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany, 11-2; Chitre, Panama, shut out Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, 13-0; Tokyo beat Manati, Puerto Rico, 7-2; and Pearland, Texas, stayed unbeaten with a 14-1 rout of Fairfield, Conn. New Jersey, Germany and Saudi Arabia were knocked out of contention.

Power wins again in IndyCar Will Power padded his IndyCar Series lead with a dominating victory at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.

Power led 73 of 75 laps over the technically demanding 2.303-mile circuit through the hills of California wine country.

Power pushed his series lead to 59 points over Dario Franchitti, who finished third behind Scott Dixon.

Minnesota Scene: The St. Paul Saints scored six runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, rallying for a 10-6 victory over the Lincoln Saltdogs at Midway Stadium. Hector Bernal was 3-for-5 with five RBI for the Saints. ... Leading jockey Dean Butler and trainer Bernell Rhone took victories in two $25,000 stakes races at Canterbury Park. Butler rode Rhone's She's Better Loud to victory in the Lassie Stakes, and he took another Rhone charge, Rustic Road, to first place in the Laddie Stakes.

High school football: Three Oregon high school football players underwent surgery and 16 others were treated after suffering muscle damage following a fall camp. All are expected to recover, but the cause of their injuries remains unclear. All 19 McMinnville High School players had high levels of creatine kinase. High CK levels can result from vigorous exercise or the use of certain medications or food supplements. Ten players remained hospitalized Sunday night.
