Wisconsin's Door County Festival of Blossoms this month features self-guided tours of fruit and flower orchards, blooming gardens and special events. Beginning Memorial Day weekend, travelers can explore Minnesota's 26 historic sites and museums for a little less during the Sesqui Sensational Summer program being offered by the Minnesota Historical Society. Visitors to one of the sites will receive a badge good for discounted admission to all of the sites through Labor Day. Birds and the places they live Detroit Lakes, Minn.

Bird-watchers and nature lovers can still register for the Detroit Lakes Festival of Birds May 15-18. The weekend includes workshops and dinners at Minnesota State Community and Technical College and field trips. Author Scott Weidensaul will discuss "Return to Wild America: a Yearlong Search for the Continent's Natural Soul" at 6:30 p.m. May 17 at a native harvest dinner. Admission is $35.
